- Read along while listening to an audio book
- Read a magazine on something you enjoy (sports, fashion)
- Read and follow a recipe
- Read directions for a hobby project
- Read a book of poetry
- Read a picture book to a younger sibling
- Read a book on a subject that you enjoy
Use reading strategies while you read.
- Read a minimum of 20 minutes daily
- Slow down and think about what you are reading
- Reread what you do not understand
- Visualize what is happening while you read
- Look for context clues for a word you do not know
- Summarize what you read to someone
